Meet Linda Duckworth

Linda Duckworth is a leader who has given a lifetime of service to her community. Linda started her volunteerism as a young 4-H member working with others of all ages on community projects. She served in leadership roles for PTO’s, her church, the American Association of University Women, and the Jane Austen Society of North America. She also served as the President of  the nonpartisan Nebraska League of Women Voters.

Linda earned a B.S. in Education from the University of Central Missouri. She taught English and Speech in public schools and served as a children’s librarian. She also worked for Boys Town in Omaha and served as a hospice volunteer for nine years.

Linda and husband of 41 years, Charlie Duckworth, served our community as foster parents, as a Big Couple with Big Brothers Big Sisters, and as host parents to more than a dozen foreign exchange students from all over the world. Linda also used her educational experience to help the community by teaching Independent Living Skills to developmentally disabled adults. Linda and Charlie are the lucky parents of three children and six grandchildren.
